The short version.Five answers you can use today.
01Why one page can’t rank for everything
Google matches each search to a single page. When someone in Davie searches for drain cleaning, Google looks for the best page about drain cleaning in Davie, not the best plumbing company nearby. A site with one page covering every service and every town isn’t the best page for any of those searches, so it doesn’t show up for them.
The fix is a page for each service in each town you serve. Eight services in six towns is forty-eight pages. That sounds like a lot because it is, and it’s why the businesses that have them win the searches. Whitespark’s 2025 ranking factors survey found a dedicated page per service is the number one factor in local rankings.

When a homeowner asks ChatGPT or Google’s AI who to call, the answer names three or four businesses. Those answers are assembled from pages the AI can read and verify: clear about what the business does, where, and who they are. A page that opens with a plain statement of what it’s about, answers common questions in a way that stands alone, and carries structured data behind it gets named. A page that says “we care about your home” doesn’t.
BrightLocal’s 2026 research found 72% of people look at three or fewer businesses before deciding. Being one of the three is the whole game.
03What hides your pages from Google
A hundred good pages can be invisible if a few technical things are wrong. Slow load on a phone. Every page sharing the same title. New pages not linked from anywhere or missing from the sitemap. Important content loaded by a script after the page appears, which Google usually handles and AI assistants often don’t. A phone number that isn’t a real link. None of these is a rebuild. Most are an afternoon of fixes, and all of them show up in a free audit.
04Publishing before the season, not during it
Google takes weeks to months to rank a new page. A summer page that publishes in summer misses the summer. In South Florida, storm pages go live by May, AC pages by April, heater pages by October, and snowbird-return pages by November. The pattern for any trade in any market: figure out when the work comes in, and have the page for it in every town live a month before.
05How to check whether it’s working
Three habits, no dashboard. Once a month, search five of your service-in-town combinations from your phone, incognito, and write down where you land. Ask ChatGPT or Gemini who to call for your trade in your town and note whether you’re named. When a competitor outranks you, look at their site. Almost every time, they have the page and you don’t. That tells you what to build next.
